With Nanoplasmonics towards Fusion

A status report is presented about the Nanoplasmonic Laser Induced Fusion Experiment (NAPLIFE). The goal to investigate and verify plasmonically enhanced phenomena on surfaces of nanoantennas embedded in a polymer target at laser intensities up few times 1016 W/cm2 pulse durations 40–120 fs. first results crater formation for Au-doped targets are shown, SERS signals typical CD2 ND bound vibrations cited. Trials detect D/H ratio by means LIBS measurments reported. Plasmonics has potential work these intensities, enhancing energy deuterium production, due thus far unknown mechanisms.
